The big one

Even I have to laugh when I read 'the big one', since Emily is still only just four.

She will soon be starting nursery, and seems unsure as to whether this is great news or a disaster. Some days she'll pack her little red satchel, which she got from her grandparents at Christmas as a nursery bag, and want to head off straight away. Then other days there are tears because she realises she won't see her parents or, more importantly, her darling brother, for a few hours. But I'm sure that'll all change as soon as she has made a few friends at nursery.
